PREAMBLE

The world is witnessing unprecedented advancements in science and technology, shaping every aspect of our lives. From cutting-edge innovations in artificial intelligence and biotechnology to breakthroughs in space exploration and renewable energy, the realm of science and technology is brimming with endless possibilities. Recognizing the significance of staying well-informed of these developments and fostering a culture of curiosity and innovation among undergraduate students, we propose the establishment of the SciTech Club at ICAR-IARI,New Delhi campus. This club aims to provide a platform for students to explore, engage with, and contribute to the exciting fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

PURPOSE

The primary purpose of the SciTech Club is to cultivate a passion for STEM disciplines among undergraduate students and empower them to become future leaders and innovators in their respective fields.

ACTIVITIES

  1. SciTech Talks: Inviting experts from various fields of science and technology to deliver talks on recent advancements, career opportunities, or emerging trends. Also, hosting informal discussions or TED-style talks on various science and technology topics.
  2. Conducting hands-on workshops and demonstrations on topics such as robotics, coding, 3D printing, etc., to provide practical exposure to members.
  3. Organizing hackathons where students can collaborate and work on projects related to science and technology.
  4. Arranging visits to research institutions, tech companies, or industrial facilities to give members insights into real-world applications of science and technology.
  5. Students Science Fair: Hosting science fairs where students can showcase their innovative projects, experiments, or research findings to the broader college community.
  6. Holding debates or panel discussions on controversial topics in science and technology, fostering critical thinking and healthy discourse among members.
  7. STEM Outreach: Collaborating with local schools or community organizations to organize STEM outreach programs, such as mentoring sessions, science camps, or science-themed events for children.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership in the SciTech Club is open to all UG students’ members of ICAR-IARI campus.

HOW TO APPLY

Interested individuals can register by filling out a membership form available in The Graduate School, Academic Management System. There are no membership fees, and all members will have access to club activities and resources. For further inquiries, please contact the Club in-charge.
