Nature Club

PREAMBLE

The Nature Club at ICAR-IARI, New Delhi campus is envisioned as a vibrant community for nature enthusiasts, conservationists, and environmental advocates. It aims to foster a deeper connection with the natural world, promote sustainable practices, and engage in activities that celebrate and protect our environment. Through a range of initiatives, the Nature Club seeks to instil a sense of responsibility towards nature and inspire positive action among its members.

PURPOSE

The primary objective of the Nature Club is to promote environmental awareness, conservation, and appreciation for the natural world within the ICAR-IARI community. It aims to encourage green initiatives supporting UN sustainable development goals and provide a platform for students to engage in hands-on learning experiences, outdoor activities, and initiatives that contribute to the preservation of biodiversity and ecosystems.

ACTIVITIES

  1. Nature excursions and eco-trails to explore local flora and fauna.
  2. Environmental conservation projects such as clean-up drives and habitat restoration efforts.
  3. Guest lectures and workshops by environmental experts on topics such as biodiversity conservation, climate change, and sustainable living.
  4. Tree planting drives and habitat restoration projects.
  5. Gardening and organic farming initiatives to promote urban agriculture and green spaces on campus.
  6. Birdwatching sessions to observe avian diversity on campus.
  7. Environmental film screenings followed by discussions on conservation issues.
  8. Walkathons, green initiative campaigns, etc will be organized.
  9. Awareness campaigns and sustainability initiatives aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

*Activities are suggestive in nature and students can propose novel activities

MEMBERSHIP

Membership in the Nature Club is open to all UG students of ICAR-IARI campus who share a passion for nature conservation and environmental stewardship.

HOW TO APPLY

Interested individuals can register by filling out a membership form available in The Graduate School, Academic Management System. There are no membership fees, and all members will have access to club activities and resources. For further inquiries, please contact the Club in-charge.
